Located at the base of the hill, right in the center of the residential subdivision stands a 2 storey commercial plaza complex servicing the needs of the local residents as well as attracting people from the nearby Aspen, Westhills, springbank hill developments. There are a fairly wide variety of retail shops as well as professional services located here. A long ways away from the downtown entertainment zone, these shops provide necessary services to those within the surrounding communities. My only complaint is the lack of a Calgary restaurant in the development.
SW Calgary Hair Salon
The Cutting-edge barbershop is one of the businesses which has been located in Discovery Ridge for many years. Every year, this small boutique shop is among the top rated hair salons in all of Calgary. In fact, they have been so successful they have branched out and opened other locations.
SW Calgary Liquor Store
New Discovery Fine Wine and Spirits is also located nearby. This little liquor store carries a wide range of spirits, beers, and especially wines. The staff is knowledgeable and the product selection is diverse. They are a great part of the neighborhood and a regular spot for King Calgary to shop.
